Former Pro Cyclist Nate English to Develop a Training Plan for the 2026 Berkeley Omnium
We’re excited to share some big news for the 2026 Berkeley Omnium present By Expert Tree Service. This year, riders will get something special: a race-specific training plan designed by Nate English, former professional cyclist, elite coach, and one of the most respected minds in endurance training.
If you’ve been around NorCal cycling long enough, you already know Nate. His resume speaks for itself: ex-pro, national-level competitor, and coach to elite riders. Nate doesn’t just train athletes; he builds smart, sustainable, long-term progress. And now, he’s bringing that depth of knowledge directly to our racers.
Why Nate?
The Berkeley Hills Road Race and the Berkeley Streets Criterium demand two very different energy systems, long sustained climbing, sharp accelerations, and the kind of repeatability that breaks legs and defines winners.
Nate understands that blend better than almost anyone.
He’s raced it.
He’s coached for it.
He knows exactly what riders need to perform on these courses.
More to Come
Berkeley Omnium has always been about the community, bringing riders together, giving back to juniors, and raising the bar for what local racing can be. Having Nate English involved is a huge step forward, and we’re thrilled to partner with him this year.
Stay tuned. And start getting those legs ready, April 18-19, 2026 will be here before you know it.
